Hi. I’m Ja’Keta.

Yoga teacher. Meditation guide. creating space for you to reconnect with yourself.

“Yoga is freedom and release. I seek to help others thrive by nurturing the mind, body, and soul. My hope is that you leave each session feeling refreshed, nourished, balanced, and more connected to yourself.”

It’s more than just yoga—it’s your experience.

I’ll never forget the day I looked in the mirror and didn’t recognize the person staring back at me.

That was the moment I realized something had to change.

Like many people, I imagined I’d find myself on a solo beach somewhere with sunshine, good food, and a cocktail in my hand. Instead, I found something completely different—a ten-day silent Vipassana meditation retreat.

It wasn’t glamorous. It wasn’t easy.

It was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done.

Leaving my everyday life behind for ten days of complete silence was terrifying, but it was exactly what I needed. During that experience, I learned how to slow down, sit with myself, and begin the lifelong practice of mindfulness and self-awareness.

That retreat changed everything.

Not long afterward, I discovered yoga.

At first, it wasn’t nearly as easy as I expected. But beneath every challenge was something I’d been searching for all along—a deep sense of peace, presence, and joy.

Yoga became more than movement.

It became a relationship between my body, my breath, and my mind.

Since 2016, mindfulness and yoga have become the foundation of my life. Every practice has taught me something new—not only about flexibility and strength, but about patience, resilience, and compassion.

I completed my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training with 612 Jungle in Minneapolis. I believe the best teachers remain lifelong students. I’m incredibly grateful for the teachers who shared their wisdom with me, and now I have the privilege of sharing that wisdom with others.

My goal isn’t to create the “perfect” yogi. it’s to create a space where you feel safe enough to simply be yourself.

Whether you’re stepping onto the mat for the first time, returning after years away, or looking for a deeper connection with yourself, you’re welcome here exactly as you are.

I believe yoga should be authentic, accessible, and affordable.

It should meet you where you are—not where someone else thinks you should be.

Every body is different.

Every journey is different.

That’s why each session is designed around you, your goals, and your pace.

Today, SoulTree is more than a business to me.

It’s a place where people can slow down, breathe deeply, reconnect with themselves, and remember that growth doesn’t require perfection—it only requires showing up.

If my story resonates with you, I’d be honored to be apart of yours.

I can’t wait to welcome you to SoulTree.
